This week finds me in beautiful New York City. I’m here for a few days of book-related meetings but yesterday, I decided to play tourist. On my way back to the hotel, I happened to walk by Rockefeller Center and thought, “I’ve always wanted to see the view from the top.” So , on a whim, I went inside, bought a ticket and took the elevator up 67 floors to see New York City’s best view, from the Top of the Rock. It was a chilly spring day and not exactly warm up there but the panoramic views of the arguably the world’s best city were more than worth it. It was a good reminder for me that sometimes, in the course of business travel, it’s important to stop and “smell the roses,” especially when your business travel brings you to somewhere spectacular like the Big Apple.
