Well, dear readers, two weeks from today I am doing something I thought I might never do…I am getting married!
That’s right, this intrepid solo traveler has finally met her match. Meet Dave, fiance extraordinaire and the new “other half” of Round the World in 30 Days.
While the fact that I’m getting married may come as a surprise, no one who knows me will be shocked by the fact that we’re having a destination wedding – at a gorgeous villa in Tuscany. And since I felt that it was only fair to Dave that the honeymoon outshine any trip I’ve done before, it will be a 3-month round the world honeymoon extravaganza. We’ve cashed in all of our miles, sold the house and after the wedding we’ll be traveling (except for a few work commitments) until late August. If you’ve been wondering why I didn’t do my usual round the world trip this past January, this is why! I’ll post a full itinerary as we get closer to departure but thank you to everyone who has shared their best wishes with us so far. Though I have thoroughly enjoyed my years of solo travel, there is no doubt in my mind that this will be my best trip ever, because I’ll be sharing it with the person I love most in the world.
