Last night the Amazing Race teams finally left Bangladesh (thank God!) and moved on to the glorious city of Istanbul. Most famous as the only major metropolis in the world straddling two continents – Europe and Asia – Istanbul is a treasure for visitors. The Blue Mosque Istanbul – better known as the Sultan Ahmed Mosque – got its name from the blue tiles that adorn the wall of its interior. When in Istanbul you should definitely visit the Blue Mosque but don’t miss one of the city’s most iconic adventures – the “Turkish bath experience.” Having submitted myself to this unique combination of torturous indulgence on my visit to Istanbul, I loved re-living it last night when several of the teams visited a hamam for a vigorous rub-down challenge. It’s a one-of-a-kind cultural experience and when it’s over, one thing’s for sure…you’ll be squeaky clean!
