I’ve been back home for a couple of weeks now, I’ve unpacked and caught up on my sleep so it’s probably time to stop slacking off and get back in the “Photo of the Day” routine! So, here goes…I will, of course, start with Antarctica since I still find myself dreaming about it all the time. Honestly, it really seems impossible to believe that I’ve even been there. But I have! And it was simply amazing. This shot is from our first landing on the Antarctic Peninsula at Neko Harbour Antarctica, our first true “continental landing.” Because nothing worth doing is ever easy, this turned out to be our most difficult landing as the crew had to battle the brash ice surrounding the shoreline. But our ever-amazing Quark Expeditions crew found a way to get us ashore and what a moment it was to finally set foot on my 7th and final continent. And as you can see…the penguins were waiting to greet us. Landing on Neko Harbour Antarctica was a day I’ll never forget.
