One of the world’s largest mosques, this architectural wonder can accommodate an astonishing 41,000 worshippers at a time. Inspired by both Moorish and Mughal architecture, more than 3,000 workers participated in its construction. The main prayer hall is home to the world’s largest carpet measuring more than 60,000 square feet and its decor is dominated by the 3rd largest chandelier in the world. Unlike other mosques in Abu Dhabi, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is open to visitors daily with complimentary guided tours available. For the best photographs, arrive around 4:30pm in time for the 5:00pm sunset tour.
