It’s Thursday so it’s back on the college football tour for me! This week, I didn’t even have to make a trip to the airport as I’m headed to Auburn, Alabama (about a 90-minute drive from my home in Atlanta). Auburn’s unofficial nickname is ”The Loveliest Village on the Plains,” taken from the Oliver Goldsmith poem, “The Deserted Village.” But this eastern Alabama city is anything but deserted on fall football weekends when the home of Auburn University often swells to twice its normal size. I’m looking forward to my first game at Auburn and (especially) to getting home on Saturday night for the first time all season!

I'm Jenny McIver, career girl, globetrotter. On New Year's Day, 2005, a newspaper article about a man who took a trip around the world sparked a wanderlust in me that has yet to abate. I spent the following year planning my own trip-of-a-lifetime and have since made it into an annual, month-long adventure visiting and writing about more than 130 countries on all 7 continents along the way - all while maintaining a full-time career. Today, my goal is to be that spark of inspiration for others by proving that you can fulfill your wildest travel dreams without quitting your day job.
