Named for explorer Christopher Columbus and founded in 1812, the city of Columbus is Ohio’s capital and largest city. Located at the confluence of the Scioto and Olentangy Rivers, Columbus is known as an up and coming tech city and the home to the nation’s 3rd largest university campus. On the banks of the Olentangy, The Ohio State University has a student enrollment of more than 55,000 and some of the country’s most enthusiastic football fans.
