Spain’s sophisticated capital, Madrid, is home to a rich cultural and artistic heritage. While the city may not have a famed attraction like the Eiffel Tower or the Colosseum; it’s well-known for style, architecture, exceptional art galleries and a generally relaxed way of living the good life. It is said that Madrid may be the most “Spanish” of all the Spanish cities. The divine dining and lively nightlife scene are an attraction all their own and sights like the Royal Palace, the Plaza Mayor and the Puerta del Sol round out the allure of Spain’s largest city. I was excited to see Matt Lauer begin his annual “Where in the World is Matt Lauer” world tour in Madrid today and I’m looking forward to seeing where he turns up tomorrow!

I'm Jenny McIver, career girl, globetrotter. On New Year's Day, 2005, a newspaper article about a man who took a trip around the world sparked a wanderlust in me that has yet to abate. I spent the following year planning my own trip-of-a-lifetime and have since made it into an annual, month-long adventure visiting and writing about more than 130 countries on all 7 continents along the way - all while maintaining a full-time career. Today, my goal is to be that spark of inspiration for others by proving that you can fulfill your wildest travel dreams without quitting your day job.
