Uruguay’s largest city, Montevideo is the southernmost capital in the Americas and the 3rd most southern in the world.  The city’s skyline is dominated by the Palacio Salvo – once South America’s highest building.  While sometimes overshadowed by Uruguay’s top holiday destination - flashier Punta del Este – Montevideo has an eclectic character and vibrant culture all its own and provides residents with an exceptionally high quality of life.  From the waterfront views of the Rambla to the recently revitalized Old City, Montevideo is worth a stop on any South American itinerary.
