Photo of the Day – The Reefs of Bonaire
Though Bonaire is world-famous for diving, more than half of the visitors to this Caribbean island are non-divers like myself. Yes, I have considered getting certified several times in the course of my travels but one thing always holds me back: an unreasonable fear of sharks. Truth be told, I’m just not convinced I want to be in water that deep. But in a place like Bonaire, why take the chance when there are so many exceptional reefs to explore just offshore? So I stuck with the snorkeling world while on the island and I was not disappointed. Vibrantly-colored coral, a multitude of tropical fish and a new underater camera kept me fully entertained for an entire day without the need to delve into the deep.
