Seeing the World – One Month at a Time

Photo of the Day – Shanghai, China

Nanjing Road, Shanghai

With a population of more than 23 million, Shanghai is mainland China’s largest and most developed city.  It’s a major Asian tourist destination and gained worldwide attention recently as the host of the 2010 World Expo.  The colonial riverside of old Shanghai, known as The Bund, is lined with dozens of historical buildings along the Huangpu River.  The entire area underwent a complete renovation in 2010.  Nanjing Road – famously named one of the World’s Seven Great Roads in the 1930′s - is Shanghai’s neon-lined pedestrian shopping mall and the city’s star attraction after dark.
