Seeing the World – One Month at a Time

Photo of the Day – Copenhagen, Denmark

Nyhavn, Copenhagen

Considered one of the world’s most environmentally-friendly cities, Copenhagen is the energetic and pristine capital of Denmark.  One of the city’s highlights is the 17th century Nyhavn Harbor.  Originally constructed as sailors quarters and once home to Hans Christian Andersen, this waterfront entertainment district is lined with colorful 17th and 18th century townhouses and bars, cafes and restaurants making it a popular gathering place for locals and tourists alike.  Historic wooden ships line the canal giving it the nickname “Heritage Harbor.”  It’s the perfect place to sip a Carlsberg and people-watch the day away – which is how I spent some of my quality time in the city.
