Seeing the World – One Month at a Time

Photo of the Day – Tour de France, Paris

The final stage of the Tour de France

First staged in 1903, the annual Tour de France covers more than 2,200 miles through France and nearby countries over the course of 3 weeks.  A few years ago, I was lucky enough to be in Paris for the final stage down the Champs-Élysées.  Having followed the event for years, it was amazing to be standing along the course and watch the cyclists fly by us 10 times on the final stretch.  It was a great experience and someday I hope to have the opportunity to see a stage in the Alps.  This year’s tour starts July 2nd from the Passage du Gois!
