The "Monolith" - Vigeland Sculpture Park, Oslo

Located in the district of Oslo known as Frogner, Vigeland Sculpture Park is home to more than 200 granite and bronze sculptures that are the lifework of Norway’s celebrated sculptor, Gustav Vigeland.  At more than 75 acres, the vast park is the world’s largest sculpture park made by a single artist.  The monolith (above) was completed in 1943 and depicts the cycle of life, representing all of humanity.  Oslo is a beautifully unique city and there is much to see, but a few hours spent at the Vigeland Sculpture Park was definitely one of the highlights of my visit.
