Truth be told, I’ve been to St. Thomas before. In fact, two of my best friends got married here several years back but I never really got out of the resort to see much of the island. And last year, when my cruise ship stopped here, I hopped a ferry over to St. John and never looked back. So, this time I decided that a tour around St. Thomas was in order. So Autumn and I decided to do a half-day tour of the island followed by a little time on one of the Caribbean’s most famous beaches – Magen’s Bay. For the sake of simplicity, we booked it with a company called Godfrey Tours. To say they were a little disorganized would be an understatement. The tour itself was okay, some of the lookout points they took us to were absolutely gorgeous. But on the whole, I was reminded why I never do group tours – too much chaos and being told what to do (I’ve never been good at that!). Though our sweeping views of Magen’s Bay from above were impressive, I am sorry to say that once we arrived at the actual beach, it was a bit of a letdown. Nothing at all like the pristine beauty of Trunk Bay in St. John, right next door. Regardless, it was nice to just be off the ship after two days at sea. Next up, zip-lining in Antigua tomorrow!
